Karin Dor Autograph, 1960s. CoA - col8831

Karin Dor Autograph, 1960s. CoA - col8831: "Karin Dor as Winnetou's sister Apanachi. Old b/w photo, 3.5 x 5.5. Authentic Autograph from the 1960s.

The autograph comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Stains from glue at back, album corner remnant at upper left side ( can be removed ).

Redheaded German leading lady Karin Dor began showing up in European films in 1955. Only a handful of Dor's straight dramatic films have been seen in America, though her more saleable Westerns, sci-fi films, and horror-melodramas have gotten much play in U.S. theaters. Of her Western appearances, the one receiving the widest exposure was her heroine stint in the two-part Winnetou (1965); her more familiar horror flicks include The Invisible Dr. Mabuse (1960) and The Face of Fu Manchu (1962).

Among Karin Dor's English-language films were the James Bond opus You Only Live Twice (1967) and Hitchcock's Topaz (1969), each of which afforded the actress a spectacular death scene.

Art Nouveau brooche from Wien / Austria. Decorative design with a girl’s head amidst floral pattern.

Size: 2.4 x 1.2 inches, 11 grams

It probably is just metal, could be silver. Partly gold coated. Seems that was the original intention – to have it only coated partly.

Romy Schneider and Karlheinz Boehm: 2 Autographs - col8556

Romy Schneider and Karlheinz Boehm: 2 Autographs - col8556: "2 old, authentic autographs by Romy Schneider and her partner in Sissi, Karlheinz Boehm on photo postcards. Both autographs come with Certificates of authenticity. Both are pasted on white sheets.
Karl Heinz Boehm is the son of famed conductor Karl Böhm. He began his performing career on stage. He appeared in his first film in 1952 and went on to play romantic leads in films throughout Europe. He also occasionally appeared in American films. He is best known for working in the "Sissi" series of films along with Romy Schneider.
After the young Romy Schneider fell in love with Alain Delon and eventually moved with him to Paris she started a real international career collaborating with such famous directors as Luchino Visconti and Orson Welles.
In 1962 she went to Hollywood. Paris Match wrote in 1971: 'Forty years after Greta and Marlene, fifteen years after Marilyn, the screen again has a great star.' The woman who had never had acting lessons had by then already made forty films; by the end of her life it would be 61. Twice, in 1979 and 1981, she was awarded the coveted César.
The sudden death of her son, who was impaled on a fence, was a hard blow to her and she never managed to recover from this loss. Romy Schneider died on May 29, 1982."

Great autograph of legendary Johnny Cash @ rubylane

Exactly 2 years ago the great Johnny Cash died.

Great autograph of legendary Johnny Cash - col7062: "b. 1932, d. 2003
Johnny Cash was born in the small town of Kingsland, in the hill country of southern Arkansas. Life had always been difficult there.
He was serving with the Air Force in Germany when he bought his very first guitar. With a few of his buddies, he started a band called the Barbarians to play in small night clubs and honky tonks around the air base.
In 1954, he was signed to the Sun Records label owned by Sam Phillips. When Phillips wanted a ballad for the b-side of Hey Porter, Cash wrote Cry, Cry, Cry overnight. The single sold over 100,000 copies in the southern states alone. Johnny Cash and his sidemen, the Tennessee Two, began touring with Elvis Presley and the other Sun Records artists.
With his second recording, Folsom Prison Blues, Johnny Cash scored a national hit. In 1956, I Walk the Line, was a top country hit for 44 weeks and sold over a million copies. As the 1960s wore on, incessant touring took its toll on the singer. To keep up with his hectic schedule, he had become dependent on tranquilizers and the amphetamine Dexedrine. He gave up his home in California and relocated to Hendersonville, Tennessee, near Nashville.
In 1987, Johnny Cash received three multi-platinum records for previous sales of over two million copies each of Folsom Prison, San Quentin, and his collection of Greatest Hits.
His wife of 35 years, June Carter, died from complications following heart surgery in May, 2003. Johnny Cash followed her in death four months later, succumbing to respiratory failure after a long struggle with diabetes."

Renate Mueller. Tragic Actress from WW2 Period. Autograph, CoA - col8365

Renate Mueller. Tragic Actress from WW2 Period. Autograph, CoA - col8365

The autograph comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

In the early thirties, a young UFA actress with a very common name rose to worldwide fame: Renate Muller. The popular blond with a great talent for comedy also went over quite well with the Nazis, but it wasn’t long before she fell from grace.

She was closely involved with Hitler, friend of Eva Braun and Dietrich. She was a celebrated theatre and film star (Viktor, Viktorie). Critics called her: “Hitler’s Gretchen: UFA Diva Renate Müller”.

In 1937 she died at 31. The circumstances of her death were never really clear. Officially she died from epilepsy but in reality pushed to suicide by the Gestapo's attempts to break up her relationship with a Jew.

For film critics Mueller was one of the most intriguing women of the thirties. She died at the age of thirty in midst of the build-up to the most turbulent times of the 20th century. @ rubylane

Slight creasing otherwise fine condition.

On May 29, 1953, he and the Nepalese Sherpa, Tenzing Norgay, set foot on the summit of Everest, the highest point on earth. They had succeeded where others had failed, and had survived a journey that had taken the lives of great explorers before them.

2 quotations by Sir Hillary: - 'We didn't know if it was humanly possible to reach the top of Mt. Everest. And even using oxygen as we were, if we did get to the top, we weren't at all sure whether we wouldn't drop dead or something of that nature.'

'Reaching the summit of a mountain gives great satisfaction, but nothing for me has been more rewarding in life than the result of our climb on Everest, when we have devoted ourselves to the welfare of our Sherpa friends.'"
